IEGCO Unveils Four Locally Manufactured Machines and Secures Export Contracts with Five Countries at Grain Tech Egypt
The Integrated Engineering Group (IEGCO) announced the launch of four machines manufactured locally for the first time during its participation in the 25th edition of Grain Tech Egypt, introducing Egypt’s first domestically produced solutions in specialized categories of variable data printing, particularly production and expiration dates
The move reflects the company’s strategy to deepen local manufacturing and reduce dependence on imports
Eng. Khaled Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer of IEGCO, said the company’s participation this year marks a significant milestone, as it showcases four machines produced entirely in Egypt for the first time, offering advanced and reliable solutions for variable data printing across a wide range of consumer and industrial products
He explained that the machines on display include HR (High Resolution), TIJ1800-Mini Plus, TIJ1800-A200 Single & Double Head, and DP2000 Large Characters, noting that these models are designed to serve the food, consumer goods, and packaging sectors while meeting stringent technical standards required in both local and international markets
Export Expansion Across Five Markets
Ibrahim added that IEGCO’s participation in Grain Tech Egypt resulted in the signing of export contracts with companies in five countries, namely Libya, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia, underscoring the growing competitiveness of Egyptian-made industrial solutions abroad
For his part, Eng. Hamdy Abdel Fattah, General Manager of IEGCO, stated that the company’s focus on local manufacturing aligns with efforts to meet domestic demand and reduce the annual import bill, estimated at approximately EGP 2.5 billion, covering machines, inks, and spare parts used in printing production and expiration dates on goods
Abdel Fattah noted that exports currently account for around 10% of the company’s total sales, with plans to increase this share to 30% within the next two years, driven by a targeted expansion strategy in African markets
He highlighted that African countries import nearly USD 3 billion annually in production and expiration date printing machines, presenting substantial opportunities to scale up Egyptian industrial exports across the continent
The 25th edition of Grain Tech Egypt was inaugurated by Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and took place from January 19 to 21, with strong participation from both local and international companies
The exhibition serves as a key international platform for supporting and localizing grain industry technologies, while facilitating knowledge exchange across milling, storage, silos, animal feed, bakeries, and packaging industries
This year’s edition features 93 participating companies, including 35 Egyptian firms and 58 international companies representing around 125 countries, reinforcing Grain Tech Egypt’s status as one of the region’s leading specialized industry exhibitions
